Without Beginning And Without End

The assertion in Psalm 90: 2 that the Creator exists from ‘everlasting to everlasting’, that He has no beginning, is incomprehensible to the human mind.

After all, we are accustomed to life in a world of origins, starting points, first causes: in short, that something cannot come from nothing. But it may be the best and only explanation for God’s existence that the believer can hope for.

Still, it seems to me that the conundrum must be more dense and difficult for the atheist.

For the true atheist is convinced that inanimate, mindless matter, acting over eons of time a fake eternity can fabricate a type of human intelligence which asks itself how and why it came into being, only to rebuke itself for having such thoughts.

This is a most annoying fact. It seems that you can’t even depend on an accidental, random assortment of imbecilic atoms to organise themselves in such a way as to stop raising awkward questions. –
