On The Hubris Of Man
A chance observation or comment wafted across Man’s intellect by the wind of Divine Providence throughout history has brought to him many wonderful discoveries.
But the very life Man himself enjoys is threatened daily: every minute the Adamic curse works against him, devitalizing his every corpuscle, the muscles of his body entering into a pact with Gravity to drag him down to the grave.
None can keep alive his own soul (Psalm 22: 29, KJV).
He claims to stand at the threshold of the secret of Life and boasts that he can create it that he will be master of it.
No! He has been allowed by his Creator to peer dimly into some of its fringe mysteries, but to create life is not his privilege.
Yet how pompous the creature has become. (A.P.)
